How to Review CAD Without Creating Rework
CAD should be used to confirm mounting datums, cable path, critical tolerances, and thermal clearance. It should not be treated as final performance approval until the torque-speed curve, sample plan, and thermal condition are aligned.
- Compare mechanical datums against your own housing before requesting a physical sample.
- Review whether hollow bore, cable exit, or flange geometry needs extra assembly clearance.
- Mark critical dimensions for incoming quality control, not only for 3D layout.
- Tie every CAD revision to a drawing number or RFQ baseline.
